Fun in the Snow

Yesterday we woke up with a yard full of snow! I had no idea there was even a chance for it. By 8:00 it was snowing so hard I could barely see the street from our window. We NEVER get actual snow. It is usually made up of more ice than snow. This was perfect snow to play in. Once it let up, I bundled Ruthie up and we headed outside. I knew we had to do it before nap because the rain was coming in after lunch to wash it all away. She loved it. She stomped all over the yard. She loved the way it sounded. We played for almost an hour before going in. I couldn't believe how comfortable the temperature was to get out there. I had to go in and take my coat off because I had on too many layers.
Checking it out

I like this stuff!

I decided to build a snowman since I didn't know when we would have enough snow to do it again. It was pitiful looking, but Ruthie didn't mind. She loved watching me roll the snow around. She would come over and pat it like I was doing to help pack it in.

Helping put the carrot on (rather putting it back on after taking it off). Right after this the head fell off due to her "patting" and had to be redone

Yay! We did it!!

She also spent a lot of time kicking and chasing her ball around in the snow.
We had a GREAT morning which resulted in a very long nap!

Playing Beauty Shop

Every Monday night we get to visit with JoJo, Aunt Lori, and Mamaw Beth. They come over because Kaylee takes dance here in Ripley. This past Monday we played beauty shop. Mother used to roll my hair on pink sponge rollers almost every night when I was a toddler. Ruthie is not quite old enough yet, but we wanted to see what her hair would do.
Ruthie fixed Aunt Lori's hair while JoJo rolled hers
All rolled up

Doing her new hula dance routine. I have no idea what started this, but it is too cute

She is so proud of herself

We only had about an hour for the curl to set. Seeing that most children leave them in overnight, that is not quite long enough to dry and set. It turned out pretty good for such a short amount of time though All fluffed up!
We had so much fun playing with her. She looks so different to me with "fluffy" hair. I am sure in the future there will a lot more nights of wearing sponge rollers
